1Overview
The Sri Lanka Business ETA is an online authorization for visa-required travelers coming for business purposes such as meetings, negotiations, conferences, workshops, seminars or short-term training.
It does not allow local employment, running a business or retail trade.
Who needs it
- All visa-required travelers entering for the listed business purposes need it.
- Travelers eligible for the tourist visa scheme must still obtain a Business ETA if traveling for commercial purposes.
- Journalists, media producers and professional photographers cannot apply online and must apply at a Sri Lankan overseas mission.
- Airport transit under 48 hours without passing border control needs no visa; leaving the transit zone or staying longer needs a Transit ETA or short-stay ETA.
